STREET HOURS: |
The show features the artwork of Vivika Hansen Denegre, a fiber artist, Owen Sea Luckey, a textile artist and Kristin Merrill, a jeweler and sculptor. Juggling the challenges of motherhood and the passion for art is a balancing act, however all three women agree that their artwork flourishes because of their roles as mothers. The patience and care it takes to create each one of their pieces of art is similar to that of mothering. The objects on display range from embellished and framed quilted pieces of Connecticut songbirds and plants, recycled fabric and sumptuous yarn scarves and fused sterling silver jewelry with semi precious stones. |
